I’ve experienced everything: pure ad-hoc, PMP, CMMi, some Agile practices (though not ‘purely’ Agile – whatever that means). None of them help at decision-making. There is absolutely NO process that defines ‘decision’. So, there is no recipe for what is a ‘good’ or ‘bad’ decision. Feature creep is the direct outcome of a bad decision early on. Too bad we can’t predict the future. The only one thing that can lead to better decision-making is Experience and Guts. Just that.
